PERTH CONTRACT MANUFACTURING OF CUSTOM COMPONENTS

END-TO-END MANUFACTURING & ENGINEERING SERVICES

Adarsh Australia offers contract manufacturing of custom mechanical components for energy, resources, agriculture, defence, and other industrial clients. We can work from your manufacturing drawings, CAD files, samples, or specifications to engineer and manufacture your parts.

The service is an excellent option for companies that do not have the time or expertise to manufacture their own products. Common benefits include lower costs, faster speed to market, lower risk, easier scaling, a higher quality outcome, and having one partner for the whole solution.

Incorporating factors like required volumes, lead times, cost considerations, and the actual part requirements, our team can review your needs to determine the best manufacturing method.

With over 30 years of industry experience, contact Adarsh Australia to discuss further.

YOUR MANUFACTURING PARTNER FOR ENGINEERING PROJECTS

Contract manufacturing is more in-depth than simply purchasing a part from a workshop. It involves selecting an appropriate manufacturing process, completing any required Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), creating any necessary tooling, and producing components consistently despite manufacturing challenges.

The example shown for this section includes 3D scanning, fabrication and powder coating of a custom interface enclosure for a local Perth customer.

Adarsh supports customers that need a pragmatic partner from design to manufacture. We can assist when you:

  • Have production-ready drawings and need a supplier to manufacture them.

  • Need metal and plastic components sourced through one manufacturing partner.

  • Require a full assembly or just an individual part.

  • Are moving from prototypes into repeat production.

  • Need additional manufacturing capacity or want to establish an alternative supplier.

  • Want to compare local and overseas options.

  • Have an existing component that needs to be reproduced or updated.

  • Require several manufacturing processes to be coordinated within one project.

Whether the requirement is for an individual component, a multi-part assembly or custom equipment, our first step is understanding the intended use and engineering details.

CONTRACT MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES

PRODUCTION OF METAL AND PLASTIC COMPONENTS

Adarsh can manufacture custom metal and plastic components from supplied engineering drawings, CAD models, samples, or production specifications.

Depending on the geometry, material, tolerances, quantity and operating requirements of the part, the manufacturing process may include:

Suitable projects may range from low-volume production through to high volume recurring orders. This example is the CNC machining of custom pins for a recurring mining client.

For small quantities, machining or additive manufacturing may provide lower overall costs. For higher-volume orders, a manufacturing process with tooling will generally have a higher upfront investment but deliver a lower unit cost.

FULL ASSEMBLIES & PRODUCTS

Some projects require more than a single component to be manufactured. Adarsh produces multiple parts, source any off-the-shelf components and deliver a full assembly or complete piece of equipment.

Depending on the part, required volume, lead time, cost considerations, and preferences, manufacturing may be completed in our Perth workshops, through our in-house overseas team, or a combination of both.

Our team can manufacture low quantities for prototype or batch production, or complete high volume manufacturing for large orders. As an example, this image shows a one-off custom trommel that Adarsh engineered, fabricated, surface coated, assembled and delivered. It included multiple components which were made to work together for the client's material processing application.

Adarsh will work with you to determine the full scope of work, only then can we quote accurately for your project.

IN-HOUSE MANUFACTURING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Not every component should be manufactured in the exact same workshop. With multiple production facilities, and a network of partners, Adarsh Australia has the capabilities so you don't have to coordinate with multiple suppliers.

Adarsh can evaluate options including our local  Perth manufacturing, overseas production, or a combined approach according to the technical and commercial requirements of the project.

Local Perth manufacturing may be advantageous when:

  • Lead time is critical.

  • Production quantities are relatively low.

  • The design may change after each batch.

  • Freight represents a high proportion of component cost.

Overseas production through our in-house team may be best when there is large or predictable demand, unit cost is the most important factor, and your schedule can accommodate longer lead times. No matter your project, our Perth engineers will manage your manufacturing.

A combined production model may be appropriate when prototypes or low quantities are produced locally and large quantities are manufactured through our overseas facilities.

Adarsh’s role is to help clients build a manufacturing plan that considers the complete project not only one aspect.

CONTRACT MANUFACTURING ADVANTAGES

Contract manufacturing offers multiple advantages for both industrial companies and government organisations, including:

  • Manufacture high quality products taking advantage of Adarsh's equipment, processes and expertise.

  • Reduce overhead and labour costs by hiring an external company to handle manufacturing.

HOW THE CONTRACT MANUFACTURING PROCESS WORKS

1. Tell us your requirements

Send Adarsh your requirements and what you currently have. This includes drawings, CAD files, a sample, or basic specifications like quantity, material, and delivery needs. Although it can definitely help, you don’t necessarily need to know the manufacturing process at this stage.

2. Discussion and Engineering Review

We review your information to understand the part, identify any missing details, and determine the most suitable manufacturing approach. We’ll clarify details and collaborate with you to make sure we're on the same page. Projects that are still at an early, undefined concept stage may require product development or engineering work before they are ready to quote for production.

3. Quotation and Manufacturing Plan

Once the requirement is defined, we provide a quote covering costs, estimated lead time, and any other required details. For more complex work, we may split this into stages.

4. Prototype or Sample Production

For suitable projects, we produce an initial part or small batch for review. This allows you to confirm fit, function, and quality before full production begins.

5. Full Manufacturing

After approval, we manufacture to the agreed specification with appropriate quality checks such as material verification, in-process checks, and final inspection. At this stage we may also coordinate surface treatments.

6. Assembly and Delivery

If required, we handle assembly, packaging, and delivery. Repeat production can then be scheduled based on agreed demand and timelines.

What to Include in a Contract Manufacturing Enquiry

Please provide drawings or CAD files where available, along with the quantity, material, tolerances, finish, inspection, budget, and desired delivery date. A physical sample or even an idea can be submitted instead, but additional work will be required before manufacturing can take place.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a contract manufacturer do?

A contract manufacturer produces components, assemblies or products on behalf of another business. The scope can range from manufacturing a single component to coordinating the production of tooling, all components in an assembly, surface finishing, packaging, and delivery.

Industrial manufacturers such as Adarsh focus primarily on mechanical components and equipment, not cosmetics, medicines, food, or other ingestible items.

Contract Manufacturing vs Toll Manufacturing

Contract manufacturing is a form of outsourcing where the manufacturer also acquires the material for the project. Toll manufacturing is similar, except that the client supplies the materials. Adarsh Australia can do both, although we must consider the risk of clients supplying their own material.

Adarsh can also manufacture components for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), as well as replacements of broken or worn OEM parts.

What can Adarsh contract manufacture?

With 30 years of experience, Adarsh Australia is an experienced manufacturer of custom metal and plastic components. Our team commonly manufactures housings, frames, brackets, shafts, rollers, gears, flanges, fittings, inserts, pulleys, enclosures, OEM replacement parts, custom industrial equipment, and various other products.

Talk to our engineering team to see if we are the right manufacturer for your item.

Can Adarsh manufacture directly from drawings?

Yes. Clients can submit 2D drawings, CAD files, and production specifications for review and quotation.

Alternatively, our team can design, engineer, and then manufacture when you're ready.

Can Adarsh manufacture from an existing sample?

An existing component can be reviewed where drawings or CAD data is unavailable. Depending on the project, additional measurements, material identification, or reverse engineering may be required before production.

Can Adarsh handle repeat production?

Yes,  Adarsh has many clients with recurring production. Expected annual usage, order frequency, batch size and delivery requirements should be discussed during the quotation process. Some recurring production orders are large-volume, while others can be small, repeated quantities.

Does Adarsh also offer prototype manufacturing?

Yes. Prototype production is available depending on the component, process and project requirements.

For entrepreneurs and startups developing a new product, consider our sister company Idea to Life.

Do clients need to know which manufacturing process to use?

No. Provide the available design information, required quantity, material preferences and intended application. Adarsh can review the requirement and discuss suitable manufacturing options.

Can Adarsh manufacturer both one-off parts and high-volume orders?

Yes. Adarsh can manufacture both one-off parts and high-volume production runs. One-off parts are often needed for replacements, prototypes or custom equipment, but the unit cost is usually higher because setup and/or programming costs are spread over a single part. Higher-volume orders benefit from economies of scale and may also justify more efficient processes such as casting or injection moulding that require tooling.
